Cemetery Board OKs Amendment for Holiday Burials

Johnson County’s Cemetery District Board approved an amendment to their policy concerning holidays for employees and scheduling of burials.

Board President John Zorbas explained the need for the change in policy.

The holidays discussed were New Year’s Day, Equality Day, President’s Day, the Saturday before Memorial Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve.

Zorbas did say that if there is an emergency situation, they can make arrangements for a burial on these days.
