Ron RichterA Sheridan man was sentenced for felony DUI this week in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
During a routine traffic stop in Sheridan in October of 2020, 59-year-old Curtis Lee was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and Driving Without an Interlock Device. Lee was sentenced for the crimes at a hearing Tuesday in District Court. The DUI charge was prosecuted as a felony because Lee has three previous convictions of DUI. Four convictions of DUI in a ten year period in Wyoming results in a felony. District Court Judge John Fenn accepted the terms of the plea agreement reached with the State and sentenced Lee to 2 ½ to 5 years in prison for the felony DUI charge, and 180 days, with credit for time served for the misdemeanor driving without an interlock device.
Lee was also ordered to pay $525 in various court costs and fees. Due to the prison sentence, Judge Fenn determined that Lee would be unable to pay his court-appointed attorney fees.

You have to get 4 DUIs in 10 years before it becomes a felony?? The community is very lucky that no one was killed during this 10 yrs!
