Trail End Open House Brings Music and Holiday Cheer to Visitors

Christmas music rang throughout the halls of the Kendrick Mansion in Sheridan Friday evening (this past weekend) as the first night of the Trail End State Historic Site Holiday Open House took place. The rooms of the site were decorated with all sorts of christmas garb. Site Superintendent Sharie Shada explained when the building would have last been inhabited for the Christmas season.

The team at the site put up 7 fully decorated trees around the mansion and they decorated almost every horizontal surface on all three floors. Shada said that they do not believe the home would have been quite as full of decorations back when it was occupied.

There are still two more nights to take part in the open house with time slots planned on Saturday and Sunday evenings from 4-7. Event entrance fees are $2 per adult and minors 17 and under are admitted free with a paying adult. Shada said this has been an annual happening for the site for at least 30 years.
