Aaron PalmerThe Buffalo City Council earlier this month awarded the contract for the Buffalo Wells Project to 307 Wildcat Well Service of Buffalo.
Phase II of the project will drill eight wells for a backup drinking water source for the City of Buffalo.
Mayor Shane Schrader said construction is still expected to begin this fall, even though the contractor is currently waiting on materials for the project.
The remaining phase of the project, Phase III, will be the building of the pipeline from the wells to the city’s water treatment plant, which is expected to go to bid in the spring of 2022.
The entire project was two-thirds funded by the Wyoming Water Development Commission, and one-third by the City of Buffalo.
