The Sheridan City Council adopted a resolution at their most recent meeting that designates Saturday, November 6 as the day for the inaugural festival. City Utilities Director Dan Roberts said the idea for the festival originated from a recommendation from Councilman Jacob Martin and the event is another opportunity to help build community and have a family fun type of gathering in the fall that will also help with pumpkin waste diversion at the City Landfill.

Roberts said the City will offer designated pumpkin drop-off locations for residents that want to donate their pumpkins before the event. Community members will also be encouraged to bring their pumpkins on the day of the event, with a drive-through drop-off location or the option to carry them in. Pumpkin related games for children of all ages will be a big part of the festival that’s planned for Saturday, November 6 from 9 am to 1 pm at Black Tooth Park in Sheridan.
