Aaron PalmerThe recent Free Dump Days in Buffalo took over 66 tons or of trash off city properties and into the landfill, according to Buffalo Building Inspector Terry Asay.
Asay told the city council that there was a good turnout for the Free Dump Days, with the city paying just under $5,000 in landfill fees for the roughly 132,000 pounds of trash brought in by city residents from May 12th through the 15th.
City and county residents were able to take their trash to the landfill with vouchers issued by each, and the governments picked up the tab on the cost to use the county landfill.
Asay also reported to the council that his office issued 26 total building permits during the month of May, two of which were for new homes.
