Whitney Center Jazz Orchestra returns to Kinnison Hall

The Whitney Center Jazz Orchestra will perform in concert on April 10 in Kinnison Hall at Sheridan College’s Whitney Center for the Arts.

Presented by the Arts at Sheridan College, this will be the first live concert for the orchestra since fall 2019. The event will start at 7 p.m. and will be presented both in-person and live streaming.

Directed by Dr. Eric Richards, the orchestra will perform a wide range of music including tributes to jazz masters Chick Corea and Sammy Nestico as well as sambas, swing, ballads and funk. Also featured will be new treatments of the Great American Songbook and new music by Scott Jeppeson, Ben Markley and Sheridan College’s Dr. Richards.

In addition, the performance will feature Wyoming’s Alycia Duprey as guest vocalist. Duprey is well known throughout the region as an outstanding vocalist and violinist in jazz, classical and crossover music.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors, $10 for K-12 and non-Sheridan College students and $10 for live streaming and may be purchased online at sheridan.edu/arts.
