Aaron PalmerTrisha Thompson, Nurse Manager for the past seven years at the Johnson County Public Health Office in Buffalo, will be leaving that position in mid-April.
Thompson will be returning to active duty in the Army, and moving to Salt Lake City to be a part of a team that will do medical coordination for units before their deployment.
Thompson has enjoyed her time in Buffalo and praised the team she had here, but said the last year during the COVID pandemic has been difficult for a number of reasons.
Thompson said her duties at public health, working 14 and 16-hours days, juggling her military responsibilities, and not having a legitimate day off since March of 2020 was difficult to say the least.
The difficulties did not have any bearing on her leaving, she said, as the military called her up, really giving her no choice in the matter.
Thompson discussed COVID vaccines and the number of those in Johnson County that have been vaccinated, and we will have that in an upcoming story.
