Aaron PalmerThe Johnson County Rural Health Care District Board discussed pain management during their recent meeting, and Board President Marilyn Connolly brought information from a Nitrous Oxide supplier for the board to review.
She explained that EMT’s can provide Nitrous Oxide as pain management without further training, and asked whether this was something the board and ambulance directors wanted to look into.
Both Buffalo Ambulance Director Dave Harness and Kaycee Ambulance Director Crosby Taylor said it is definitely something to look into, as it is a safe drug to administer and it would be useful for patients in certain situations.
No decision was made at the meeting, other than to further look into the matter.
