Sheridan County has entered into service contracts on behalf of Big Horn County concerning CARES Act and Community Service Block Grant funding.

Ann Perkins, Program Coordinator for the Sheridan Tripartite Board, spoke about the two contracts, saying an administrator was needed for Big Horn County for funding to be dispersed to those needing it in that county, and Sheridan County was willing to step up to do so.

The first contract, for Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Stimulus, or CARES Act funding, is for a not-to-exceed amount of nearly $108,000; and the second is for Community Serviced Block Grant funding for a not-to-exceed amount of just over $83,000.

Perkins said, “I am happy that we are able to step in and help a neighboring county and not let these funds go unused during this trying time.”

The commission voted to approve and accept the contract.
