Aaron PalmerIt may be months away, but Wyoming Republicans upset with US Representative Liz Cheney are already moving to replace her in the next election.
State Senator Anthony Bouchard (R-Laramie, Goshen Counties) has decided to run against Cheney in the 2022 election, and will be hosting a town hall event in Buffalo this Saturday.
April Poley, who is the campaign organizer for the Bouchard campaign, explains why he decided to run against Cheney.
According to information on Facebook about the event, it is a chance to air grievances with Liz Cheney and find out about her opponent, Senator Anthony Bouchard.
Cheney drew the ire of Wyoming Republicans when she voted to impeach former President Donald Trump, going against the wishes of her constituents in the state.
The Wyoming GOP’s central committee subsequently voted overwhelmingly to censure her.
She has since said she will not resign her position in the US House of Representatives.
The Buffalo Town Hall will be Saturday from 1 to 3pm at the Bomber Mountain Civic Center and is free to attend and open to all interested.
There will be a town hall event Friday in Gillette at 6:30pm at the Arbuckle Lodge, and a Meet and Greet at 4pm Saturday at the Invasion Bar and Grill in Kaycee.
