Governor Addresses Mental Health Issues Associated With the Pandemic

Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon, in his recent virtual address to the Wyoming Legislature, talked about the psychological effect the COVID-19 pandemic has had on many of the State’s citizens. Gordon said while we must mourn all of the souls lost to COVID-19, we must not forget the almost 200 people that have died from suicide during the pandemic.

According to statistics released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for 2019, Wyoming is number one in suicide rates per capita in the nation. The CDC statistics were released late last year and can be viewed here: Stats of the State – Suicide Mortality (cdc.gov)
