“Alone Together: Music for Unaccompanied String Instruments in the Time of COVID” will be presented at 7 p.m. next Wednesday at Sheridan College’s Whitney Center for the Arts.

The performance will be presented free to the public, but entrance tickets will be required.

The event will feature Dr. Mark Elliot Bergman, college department of music faculty member, on the cello, electric bass, double bass and viola da gamba.

Dr. Bergman said it’s deeply ironic that at this moment in our cultural history, the unifying experience we are all having is that of social isolation. He said the unaccompanied solo repertoire is, in many ways, the embodiment of this condition.

Both in-person and livestream tickets to the performance are available online at sheridan.edu/arts or at the Whitney Center for the Arts box office at (307) 675-0360.
