Pat BlairThe annual run to benefit Sheridan Memorial Hospital’s Welch Cancer Center has gone virtual this year.
Ada Kirven, who’s director of donations at Sheridan Memorial Hospital Foundation, said the event – called The Link-Partners in Pink – started on Oct. 1 and continues through Oct. 31.
Because of COVID-19, she said, this year’s event is completely online.
She said after people register, they have access to a place on the site where they can record their times in whatever race they participate in. She said people can choose among a 1.5-mile walk or a 5K or 10K race. She said people can also choose to go farther than 10K.
The event is always held in October, in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and all proceeds raised in the local event go to the Welch Cancer Center.
Kirven said funds raised this year will go into the cancer center’s Comfort Care Fund.
Kirven said this will be the 12th year for The Link-Partners in Pink. She said those who need help registering for the event can call 673-2418.
