AARP Shred Events Return to Sheridan and Buffalo

AARP Wyoming has announced they will host free document-shredding events in Buffalo and Sheridan on Saturday, Sept. 26, to help residents protect themselves from identity theft and fraud.

These drive-through events offer residents a secure way to dispose of outdated documents containing sensitive personal information. AARP Wyoming volunteers will host the events with support from the Banks of Buffalo, Sheridan and Gillette.

The Buffalo event will take place from 2 to 4:30 p.m. in the DJ’s Grocery parking lot, 895 Fort St.

The Sheridan event will take place from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Sheridan Commercial True Value Hardware, 303 Broadway St.

Both events are open to the public, and AARP membership is not required. Participants may bring up to two large boxes of paper for shredding and should remain in their vehicles. Food waste and trash will not be accepted.

The events are part of AARP’s effort to combat fraud, educate consumers and help people safeguard their personal information.
