An agreement between the University of Wyoming and Sheridan County for UW to operate the Sheridan Incubator facility has been approved by both parties, where the university will be more financially involved in and will operate the program in Sheridan County.

County Adminnistrative Director Renee Obermueller gave some background on the program, saying the Kickstart Wyoming program began about two years ago with a pilot program in Sheridan through the Wyoming Business Council and ENDOW.

Obermueller said the university, believing in the program, came forward and decided to become more involved and infuse more funding into the incubator program.

According to the agreement, the parties in the program realize that costs of operating will exceed revenues it generates, and will require additional funding to sustain operations.

Funding locally will come from 1% Optional Sales and Use Taxes and will be reviewed annually to determine the amount of funding available.
