Work on Buffalo’s Main Street Project Moving North of Fort Street

Project Engineer Brent Bennett, with Nelson Engineering, gave a quick update to the Buffalo city Council on the Main Street Project, saying work would be shifting north of the Main/Fort intersection, although some work still needed to be done there.

Councilman Mike Madden said he had talked to residents concerned about the trees downtown that could threaten to pull up sidewalks along Main Street. He asked if Bennett knew what WYDOT or the contractors had planned to address those concerns.

Bennett said earlier discussions had indicated the city wanted to leave the trees unless they were currently causing problems and needed to be removed.

His understanding was that new trees are supposed to be planted if problem trees need to be removed, but WYDOT is supposed to be handling those issues..
