Sheridan Man Sentenced to Prison for Probation Revocation

A 21-year-old Sheridan man will be serving a 4 to 6 year prison sentence following a hearing Tuesday in Fourth Judicial District Court. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
On March 7, 2024, Jeremiah Peet was sentenced in District Court for the crime of sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree. Peet received a prison sentence of 4 to 6 years, suspended in lieu of a nine-month split sentence, followed by five years of supervised probation. At an initial hearing Tuesday in District Court on the State’s second petition to revoke his probation, Peet admitted that he’d violated the terms and conditions of his probation. Between March 6 and March 24, Peet consumed alcohol, had unapproved contact with a minor, had unapproved electronic contact with a minor and was in the company of a convicted felon.
District Court Judge Darci Phillips accepted Peet’s admission into the record and imposed the underlying 4 to 6 year prison sentence. Peet will be given credit for any time served of presentence confinement.
