Buffalo’s City Council approved a variance to city code request to burn yard debris within the city limits.

John Vaselin came before the council to explain why he was making the variance request.

Fire Chief Gomer Gammon suggested to wait until next year to burn as the debris may still be too green to properly burn. One property owner is looking to sell their property and wants the debris removed this year if possible.

Gammon suggested Vaselin try burning one of the piles to see how it burns to determine whether or not it would be feasible to burn the other piles or wait until next year.

The council approved the variance with the stipulation from the fire chief.
