Pursuant to the terms of a plea agreement reached with the State, Ravaughn Hobbs pleaded no contest to the charge of unauthorized use of personal identifying information. The plea agreement recommends a sentence of 3 to 5 years in prison, suspended in favor of a split-sentence of 210 days in jail and three years of supervised probation. According to court documents, Hobbs used the social security number, birthdate, and address of an individual in Sheridan to rent an apartment in Texas. The victim filed a report with the Sheridan Police Department on February 20, 2024 after being notified by Lifelock that their credit score had dropped significantly due to non-payment of approximately $3,226 to Westcreek Apartments in Fort Worth, Texas.

District Court Judge Ben Kirven ordered that a presentence investigation be completed by the Department of Corrections Division of Probation and Parole and said sentencing will be scheduled for approximately 60 days from now. Judge Kirven granted a request to modify the defendant’s bond from a cash only bond to a $5,000 unsecured bond with the condition that he cannot leave Sheridan County prior to sentencing.
