Sheridan Advocacy & Resource Center Executive Director Yvonne Swanson said budget cuts have been tough on the center’s operations. Due to budget cuts both at the state and federal level, this yearly fundraiser has become critical to the center.

Love Shouldn’t Hurt is a celebration of work accomplished at the center and a celebration of strong healthy relationships while raising funds to continue the vital work of the staff at the Sheridan Advocacy & Resource Center.

The funds raised from this celebration are used to help clients of the center in ways that restricted grant funding cannot. These unrestricted funds have in the past been used to replace car tires for a victim of domestic violence whose abuser turned to vandalizing their property. It has been used to purchase a mobile device to assist a victim in getting full-time work and moving on with their life. The money is utilized in many varied ways, but all the funds are used to help victims.
