In its third year, the Uprising Ball of the Wild is going under the sea.
In 2010, by presidential proclamation, President Barack Obama declared January “National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month” and every year since, each president has followed this tradition.
The month gives the nation an opportunity to educate themselves on the issues of human trafficking and a time to listen to and empower victims.
Although many organizations are working diligently to care for victims, Uprising is working to get ahead of the problem.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Uprising co-founder and Executive Director Terri Markham invited the public to help the organization accomplish their mission of raising awareness and education of human trafficking while also having a little fun at a gala event.
