Aaron PalmerJohnson County’s Commissioners, during their meeting Tuesday, approved and accepted an agreement concerning a Homeland Security Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG)in the amount of roughly $38,500.
County Emergency Management Coordinator Jimmy Cataline explained more about what the grant funding does.
Cataline said the National Emergency Management Association (NEMA) has issued a letter to President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team asking for additional funding for the EMPG to reverse the recent trend where funding had been reduced.
He added that the association (NEMA) is also requesting that the FEMA Director become part of the president’s cabinet moving forward.
