Sheridan County Approves Funding Application for Airport Taxiway Realignment

Sheridan County’s Commissioners, during their recent meeting, approved a federal funding application for the Sheridan County Airport’s 2024 Realignment of Taxiway Alpha Construction Project.

Airport Manager Robert Gill explained the funding application further during the meeting.

According to an airport memo to the commission, the total amount requested through the grant application is $5,987,935 which covers 95% of the project. Additionally, the Wyoming State Aeronautics Division will provide a matching contribution of $157,577 and the county will provide $157,577 coming from the airport’s current fiscal year capital improvement budget.

The commission voted to approve the grant application, with Commissioner Holly Jennings voting against, citing concerns over federal requirements in the application that will be binding to the county.
