Now that summer and early fall seasonal jobs such as construction have ended for the year, Wyoming’s unemployment rate increased some in October.
The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services says the statewide seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased slightly from 3.1% in September to 3.2% in October.
The rate was at 2.9% in October of last year.
The US Seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for October was at 4.1%, which is unchanged from the previous month, and was at 3.8%, at this time one year ago.
The unemployment rate for both Sheridan and Johnson County increased in October from 2.4% to 2.8%.
Sheridan County’s unemployment rate was at 2.1% in October 2023, while Johnson County was at 2.3%
Crook County had the lowest unemployment rate in October at 2.3%, while Sublette and Uinta County both had the highest rate at 3.5%.
Non-farm employment in the Cowboy State increased by 3,100 jobs from October of last year to October of this year.
