The Wyoming County Commissioners Association (WCCA) has issued a release saying they have presented Senator Tara Nethercott and Representatives Barry Crago and Bob Davis with their 2024 Legislator of the Year award at its annual fall awards banquet.

According to the release, Representative Barry Crago, during the 2024 Wyoming Legislative Session, made significant contributions, especially on pressing issues like property tax relief. Crago was actively involved in shaping several proposals aimed at alleviating the state’s growing concerns over property taxes. Although not all tax relief bills succeeded, Crago continued advocating for comprehensive solutions to address the burden on Wyoming residents.

Representative Crago’s efforts during the session reflected a focus on pragmatic legislative action, aimed at providing immediate and long-term financial relief for Wyoming residents.

The WCCA also recognized Senator Tara Nethercott and Representative Bob Davis in the release, highlighting their contributions in state government.

The Wyoming County Commissioners Association has presented Senator Tara Nethercott and Representatives Barry Crago and Bob Davis with the group’s 2024 Legislator of the Year award at its annual fall awards banquet.

In the most recent legislative session, Senator Nethercott played a critical role in advancing legislation for the Federal Natural Resource Policy Account which appropriated funds to WCCA that fund our two Natural Resource positions. Her leadership and insight helped secure crucial support for Wyoming counties, enabling them to better manage and protect their natural resources.

Senator Nethercott has been a friend and supporter of the work of Wyoming’s counties for years. She previously won Legislator of the Year in 2021. Receiving this recognition twice is a testament to her significant contributions to advancing local government. Her ongoing commitment and efforts have consistently strengthened county governance across the state.

In the 2024 legislative session, Davis successfully championed an amendment to the general budget that appropriated funds to the Wyoming County Commissioners Association under the Federal Natural Resource Policy Account. This initiative funded two natural resource staff positions, strengthening local government’s ability to manage public lands, protect county interests, and navigate federal regulations.

His efforts have ensured that Wyoming counties maintain greater control over their natural resources, balancing development and conservation effectively.
