Since 2018, The WYO Film Festival has celebrated films of all sizes; short films, feature length films and even animated films. The real features are the independent films created to entertain, to make viewers jump with fear, to laugh and documentaries that cause viewers pause, to think and wonder.
Founder of the WYO Film Festival Justin Stroup and Creative Director Breton Shepherd made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to talk a little about the festival that will kick off the night of Oct. 3, and run through the weekend.
The WYO Film Festival has grown in size and scope since 2018. Stroup has worked with many filmmakers over the years and is excited this year’s line up includes many filmmakers who have dedicated work in the Cowboy State.

Many of the filmmakers who are not local take the time to fly into Sheridan. The festival offers opportunities for questions and answer periods about the creative process and work needed to make a film. Shepherd said one local filmmaker will be offering his time to the crowd that is already a Sheridan favorite.
