cvannoyThe Vintage Car and Wagon Show held on Saturday Sept. 21 at Trail End drew just over 300 people. This was the first year that the show added wagons and sleighs. Although cars came into Sheridan in the early 1900s, many rural people still used wagons and sleighs to travel well into the 20th century.
Sharie Shada, site superintendent,
One sleigh was a 1906 Russian Cutter owned by Ed and Christa Grywusiewicz.
They take the wagon and cutter in parades, including taking the cutter in the Buffalo Christmas Parade. She added that there are still a few Christmas lights on the sleigh. Ed and Christa were accompanied by the grandson, Dallas.
Shada announced the winners, chosen by those who attended the show. The winners were: Best Original was a 1925 Ford Model T owned by Coyote Dow.

Best Restoration: 1935 Chevy Deluxe, owned by Howard Christman.

The Best in Show title was won by a restored 1955 Chevy Bel Air Convertible owned by Guy Fowler.
Fowler added that the car is a ‘trailer queen’. That is, he puts it in a trailer to transport it to shows. However, since he lives in Sheridan, he drove it to the mansion for the show.
Another car on display was owned by Catherine Fryberger of Sheridan.
The winner of Favorite Wagon went to the Canadian Roberts Vis-a-Vis owned by Renny Barbula.

There were over a dozen vintage cars and around 10 wagons, buggies and sleighs on display. All the cars had to be manufactured within the years that the Kendrick family lived in the Kendrick Mansion from 1913-1961.
