According to Director of Development Ryan Koltiska, The Hub on Smith is excited to celebrate 50 years of serving older adults in Sheridan County. Since opening its doors on Dec. 17, 1973, The Hub has grown from a small organization aiming to meet the needs of senior citizens to a thriving multi-purpose center dedicated to helping seniors live independently and stay engaged in the community. Now, they are inviting the community to join us for a special celebration.
The Hub on Smith 50th Anniversary Celebration begins at 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 26, at The Hub on Smith 211 Smith St. in Sheridan. The celebration will be an open house featuring live music by One Shot, Cindy Benson, and the Black Mountain Drifters. Catering will be provided by The Hub’s Grab N Go Café with complimentary beverages.
Guests will have the opportunity to learn about the impactful programs The Hub provides to support Sheridan’s senior population. And participate in a collaborative art project to commemorate this milestone as well as play Hub Bingo for a chance to win prizes.
Koltiska said this is an opportunity to celebrate the community and the hard working staff that have worked to make The Hub a success for 50 years.
