The City of Sheridan will host Saluting Branches, a nonprofit organization, for the 10th Annual Day of Service.
Beginning at 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, volunteers with Saluting Branches will perform beautification work at the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. According to the City, volunteers will participate in pruning trees, improving landscapes, mulching, planting new trees, and cleaning headstones.
Saluting Branches is a national organization whose mission is to honor American service men and women by organizing volunteer tree and landscape care for the property dedicated to veterans.
Sheridan Municipal Cemetery is the final resting place for over 2,300 veterans.
Sheridan Police Department Chief Travis Koltiska made the announcement during a recent appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse.

The Chief suggested the public look into volunteer opportunities with the organization should they wish to do so.
The Chief also took the moment to thank the sponsors of this event who have given to the effort of making a place for veterans and their surviving families more pleasant to visit.
