SCLT Announces Change in August Explore History Program

On August 7, Chris Vrba Sheridan Community Land Trust Director of Marketing & Development, announced that due to the lack of availability of a bus for TRVCC, they have tweaked the Explore History news release. Instead of a bus, participants are asked to car pool to Fort Mackenzie.

The new release reads: The Sheridan Community Land Trust has announced that its Explore History program for August will be a Fort Mackenzie Historic District Tour. Join us as we Explore History in the afternoon this August. First established as a military outpost and later transformed into a veterans hospital, Fort Mackenzie has served our community for more than 125 years. VA Historian Thomas Hatch will lead us on a tour of the history and architecture of the Fort Mackenzie Historic District. Explore History is free to attend and open to all.

Explore History will be held on the following dates. Please note time change this month.

Tuesday, August 13. Please meet at The Hub on Smith parking lot at 2:30 p.m. to carpool to the fort. The tour will start at 3 p.m.

Tuesday, August 20. Please meet at The TRVCC in Dayton at 2:15 p.m. to carpool to the fort. The tour will start at 3 p.m.
