Executive Director of the WYO Performing Arts and Education Center, Erin Butler, Music Director Amanda Allyn, and actors Jordan Frey and Ian Garrison made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public to talk about the upcoming performance of Mean Girls at the WYO Theater.
Allyn said she worked with the cast to nail down the musical performances, but the play involves a lot of music under the dialogue, creating a new challenge for much of the cast when it comes to timing.

Adapted from Tina Fey’s 2004 film, Mean Girls was on Broadway and was nominated for 12 Tony Awards.
Frey, who portrays two parts – one that was played by Fey – worked to understand the mind behind the Mean Girls creator.

Portraying a star mathlete, Garrison also did his homework. The part requires a lot of rapping performances, so Garrison listened to the rap styles that his character would have grown up with.

The community is invited to see the performance at the WYO Theater beginning at 7 p.m. Aug. 15 – 17. Rated PG-13, tickets can be purchased by clicking here.
