Johnson County Accepts New Drug Court Contract

Johnson County has accepted a contract for funding for the county’s Drug Court Program, at the request of County Attorney Tucker Ruby.

Ruby explained that the contract was needed due to a change in the entity the county deals with at the state level.

Ruby said the current contract is in-line with contracts the county has entered into with the state to provide these services.

Although there are some new requirements in the contract, Ruby said they would not be anything the county cannot do.

The contract is for two years, with the state funding the drug court program at $131,000 spread over the two-year period.
