A change of plea hearing was recently held in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan for 33-year-old Christina Oien. Pursuant to a plea agreement reached between the defendant and the State, Oien pleaded guilty to the charge of conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance – methamphetamine. The non-binding plea agreement recommends a sentence of 2 ½ to 4 years in prison, suspended in lieu of a split sentence equal to the time served up until sentencing and three years of supervised probation. District Court Judge Darci Phillips ordered that a presentence investigation be completed by the Department of Corrections Division of Probation and Parole and scheduled sentencing for September 3 at 10:15 am.

On January 26 of this year, Oien was arrested for her role in conspiring with three other individuals to distribute methamphetamine in Sheridan. The arrest was part of an investigation by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation into a suspected methamphetamine distribution ring in Sheridan.
