Ron RichterThird and final reading of ordinance 2278, a request from Story House Property Company to rezone 44.8 acres of property located at 2323 East 5th Street in Sheridan from B-2 to a Planned Unit Development was approved by a 4 to 1 vote by the Sheridan City Council Monday night. Councilman Andrew Patceg was the lone no vote. City Public Works Director Hanns Mercer.
The City Council also approved a settlement and release agreement with Karo Hamilton, the homeowner of the residence at 1050 North Sheridan Avenue that was demolished during the armed standoff in February of this year.
The agreement stipulates that the City will pay $250,000 to the Wyoming Community Development Authority to help with the cost and construction of a new home for Hamilton. The agreement also fully discharges and releases the City, Sheridan Police Department, Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office, and any other Wyoming governmental entity from any and all claims arising from the events that occurred in February.
