Johnson County’s Commissioners have approved and accepted contracts with the Wyoming Department of Health, Public Health Division, for funding for the coming fiscal year.

The contracts were discussed by Public Health Nursing Manager Kristin Friedrich during the recent county commission meeting.

The first contract is for funding to develop public health emergency preparedness and response capability.

According to the CDC website, the “capability standards have served as a vital framework for state, local, tribal, and territorial preparedness programs as they plan, operationalize, and evaluate their ability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from public health emergencies.”

The amount the county will receive is $111,000 for continued preparedness and response.

The second contract is for $10,000 for the county health officer.

Both require a small county match for the funding.
