At their Tuesday meeting, the Buffalo City Council set the mill levy for fiscal year 2024-25.

Mayor Shane Schrader read the Resolution.

Property taxes collected by the county are distributed to the city and town governments through the requested mill levies.

According to City Clerk Julie Silbernagel, the city receives about $450,000 annually from the eight mills, but it does vary, and she budgets accordingly.

Municipal governments are allowed up to eight mills by the State of Wyoming to fund their operations.

The majority of funding the city receives for annual operations comes from sales taxes.
