Aaron PalmerBuffalo Building Inspector Terry Asay, in his report to the city council at their last meeting, reported that the state had approved the go-ahead for the Dollar General and Love’s Travel Stop proposed to be built in Buffalo.
Asay also reported he continues to get reports of property compliance issues in the city that he is looking into.
Some landowners are not able to perform the needed maintenance so he has contacted various organizations and churches that volunteer to do these types of projects for those that can’t and they have been willing to help.
Finally, Asay reported that this year’s City Cleanup Days will be May 15-18.

Building a Loves truck stop in Buffalo will certainly bring down the neighborhood! And another dollar store. Great! Maybe add a couple hundred units of Section 8 housing while you’re at it. Buffalo city council and the Johnson county commissioners have a complete lack of foresight. Cash now is their only criteria.

Seems to me, that we already have a Dollar type store in Buffalo that was just remodeled at great expense, and we already have a really nice CENEX truck stop in town. Both of these new businesses will hurt our existing businesses that offer the same thing.
Both the new Dollar store and Love’s truck stop would be better served in Kaycee, which would help their community.
