While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Executive Director of CHAPS Equine Assisted Services, Kristen Marcus, spoke on the new Alphabet Soup group intended to help first responders, anyone in law enforcement and their spouses.

The Alphabet Soup Group, funded by the Hughes Charitable Foundation, was designed to help law enforcement and first responders through camaraderie and equine assisted therapy.

First responders, communications technicians, detention center deputies and law enforcement do more than just put themselves in harm’s way when someone needs help, they risk their mental health with the trauma they witness and experience firsthand.

The Alphabet Soup Group meets at 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday nights at CHAPS Equine Assisted Services, located at 501 U.S. Highway 14 East.
