The Wyoming Game and Fish is offering a hunter education class in Sheridan, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday evening and all day Saturday, April 11-13. There are 35 seats available.
Wyoming Game and Fish Public Information Specialist Christina Schmidt said this is a traditional, in person class and suitable for all ages, though parents should keep in mind that the student manual and test is written at a fourth grade level.
Students must attend all classes and pass the final test with at least an 80% score.
Recently, Schmidt said it’s always better to get a hunter education class done as soon as possible. In the past, available seats in these classes were quickly taken.

To sign up, go to the Game and Fish website and click on the ‘education’ link at the top of the page. This will lead to another page listing all statewide hunter education classes currently offered.
In many cases there is a waiting list due to the popularity of this class type, Schmidt recommends submitting to that waiting list because should anyone cancel, it will automatically send a notification to the first person on the waitlist.
The Game and Fish do also request that if someone has signed up and something changes and a person can’t make it, please return to the site and cancel to open the seat for someone else.
