Jentel is inviting the community to attend February’s Jentel Presents.

The new Jentel residents have come from around the nation and traveled to Wyoming to create while taking in the beautiful landscape. Jentel Presents is an opportunity for these artists to share their visual artworks and writings with all who would like to join.

This community outreach program, featuring visual presentations and readings by the residents from the Jentel Artist Residency Program, will take place from 11:30 am – 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, at the Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library Inner Circle in Sheridan. Jentel invites attendees to bring their lunch and enjoy the presentation.

This month’s presenters include Sandra Harris, Hardin, MT; An oil painter; Sandra has been painting since age 11. She is still a perpetual, passionate student of visual art and music. She loves painting outdoors, transforming blank panels into colorful skies and streams.

Emily Grace Hall, San Francisco, CA; A mixed media sculptor; She wants to learn about genetic, geological, cultural, and personal evolution through her work. She loves to read and discover new landscapes.

John White, Philadelphia, PA; An oil painter; White’s rhythms of sailing, currents of wind and tides, tensions of lines and fabric, formed his sense of time.

Xochitl-Julisa Bermejo, San Gabriel, CA; A creative nonfiction writer, Bermejo is proud to identify as a Chicana from California. The daughter of Mexican immigrants, she loves her Mexican culture and speaking LA Spanglish.

Tree Bernstein, Longmont, CO; A memoir writer, poet, and photographer; her memoir Mistranslations is about her journey as a 65-year-old Peace Corps Volunteer teaching English and Art in a rural Cambodian village for two years.

Sarah Hotchkiss, San Francisco, CA; An acrylic painter; In her day job, she’s an arts journalist for San Francisco’s NPR/PBS affiliate. She also co-ran a gallery on a 6-by-12-foot billboard from 2020 to 2023.

The Jentel Foundation offers dedicated individuals a supportive environment in which to further their creative development. While at Jentel, visual artists and writers have the opportunity to experience unfettered time to allow for thoughtful reflection and meditation on the creative process in a setting that preserves the agricultural and historical integrity of the land.
