Tommy BThe KWYO Radio Calendar gives us a reason to celebrate the heritage of our radio station KWYO for the whole year. And what better way than photographs of classic radios. January features a photograph of a beautiful Rogers Majestic Corp. radio from 1937 or 1938. It’s distinctive etched and painted glass dial is unrivaled in the industry.
Before merging with the Majestic Corporation of Chicago in 1928, the Rogers Vacuum Tube Company of Toronto, Canada actually built a radio station to demonstrate the invention of a superior radio receiver. Station CFRB signed on the air February 19, 1927 and it’s the city’s oldest operating radio station today.
You can celebrate Sheridan’s oldest radio station with your own KWYO calendar. You’re not going to want to miss one page of history.
Cheers to 90 Years.
