The Johnson County Jim Gatchell Memorial Museum has been awarded a grant from the Wyoming Cultural Trust Fund.

Museum Director Sylvia Bruner gave a report to the Johnson County Commission during their meeting Tuesday.

Bruner said the grant is similar to other grants in that it may only be used for what the museum said they would use it for, restoration work on the Carnegie Building, and that the Cultural Trust Fund be credited for the grant award.

According to Bruner the county and the museum will expend the money on the project and then be reimbursed by the grant funding.

The County Attorney’s Office reviewed the grant agreement and had no issues with it, and the commission approved and accepted the funding agreement.
