Aaron PalmerSheridan County’s Commissioners have voted to approve a one-time staff appreciation bonus on the recommendation of County Administrative Director Cameron Duff.
Duff explained why he suggested giving the bonuses, saying employees are seeing hardships with increased costs like everyone else, but said it would show appreciation for the county’s employees.
Public comments were against the bonuses with reasons given as an increase in costs for the county and concerns over retirement-age employees being let go for the remaining employees to receive a bonus.
Commissioner Nick Siddle spoke in favor of the bonuses.
The commission voted to approve the employee bonuses with Commissioner Holly Jennings voting against.
