SCSD#2 Recognizes Drama Club, Talks about CTE

At the Monday, Dec. 4, SCSD#2 Board of Trustees meeting, by unanimous vote, Shane Rader was re-elected as board chairman; Arin Waddell vice-chairman; Ann Perkins as clerk; and Dana Wyatt as treasurer.

Recognitions were the Girls # 3 Doubles Tennis Team Champions Liv Katschke and Georgia Gould. Activities director Kasey Garnhart introduced Grace Cannon, who talked about the SHS Fall Drama

She added about how well the Drama club did in Casper.

Other recognitions included the 4A Football State Champions, and Jeff Mowry, coach, said the team had a great attitude through the year, despite several challenges. They did a great job leading on the football field and in the school.

Jeff Mowry was also named by the Wyoming Coaches Association as Four A football coach of the year for third year.

Kasey Garnhart recognized the WHSAA Good Sportsmanship Awards – Kasey Garnhart Aubrey Chase; Alexis Welty; Kailee Holst; Savannah Knutson; Noah Williamson; Eastyn Parker; and Lilly Charest & Kailee Holst.

Assistant superintendent Kristie Garriffa, Principals Mike Swan and Paige Sanders talked about the National ESEA Distinguished Schools, John C. Schiffer Collaborative School & Henry A. Coffeen Elementary

Superintendent Stults presented the WSBA SCSD2 District and Individual Trustee Awards

He added that the board was also honored at the WSBA awards as well.

In his superintendent’s report, Stults said that Whitney Benefits and the school have been working with employees and the school districts in Sheridan and Johnson Counties.

He added that the school received a sizable grant as well which will help the CTE students.

Troy Decker gave a facilities update, and talked about the new garage door and the special ed buildings.

Trustee Wayne Schatz reported that the legislators commented on how well SCSD#2 takes care of the buildings and keeping them in good repair.

The next regular meeting will be on Jan. 8 at 6 p.m.
