JCHC DON Reports COVID, ‘No Serious Illnesses’

During the regular Johnson County Healthcare Center hospital board meeting, Director of Nursing Mary Litzel reported that everything was “going okay.”
It has been busy at times but “up and down” with admits and discharges overall but a census at that time showed eight patients in the hospital.
She reported there have recently been cases of COVID in the facility, but nothing serious.
Litzel was asked about Sheridan College nursing students that were scheduled to train in the facility in the spring.
She said there were supposed to be five coming in to work, which she said was quite a high number.
Litzel said five nursing students is a lot but all the facility’s nurses are excited and happy to be helping to train them.
