Sheridan City Councilmembers Greg Luhman and Steven Brantz made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to talk about, among other items, a proposed snow removal plan that will require time and effort to implement.

According to the City of Sheridan, City employees missed family events to serve the community this past winter ensuring roads were plowed and clear for traffic.

This led City leadership to begin a discussion to propose an ordinance that would allow the city to implement odd-even parking to clear snow more efficiently and effectively during the winter.

Providing a straight, alternating route down city streets would allow plow operators to reach more streets in less time as well as reducing the amount of fuel used by the City. The proposed ordinance may also make the process much safer.

Changes such as this take a campaign to educate the public of the change. According to documents from the City, leadership is in development of discussions to begin a three year campaign to ensure the public has the opportunity to comment, learn and implement the proposal. But Luhman feels the proposed change will be worth the effort.

Currently, the discussions are in the infant stages.
