Sheridan College Approves Budget For FY 2024; Employees Get Pay Raise

The Northern Wyoming Community College District has approved its budget for fiscal year 2024, and many employees and faculty in Sheridan and in Johnson County will see an increase in future paychecks.
The Board of Trustees approved the operating budget of $32.8 million and about 52% of that will go towards salaries and benefits.
Employees that earn less than $100,000 a year will receive a 5% salary increase, those that earn more than $100,000 a year will receive a 4% increase and the President Dr. Walter Tribley will receive a 2% increase.
Dr. Tribley says since the cost of living and inflation have both increased during the past few years, so should the pay rate of all college employees.
“An academic institution is a human resource driven institution. It’s not a widget driven institution in any way shape or form. We’re not making parts or something like that, so it’s all about maintaining our human resource and rewarding our employees and helping keep that part of their career taken care of, where at least they know that their board and their senior administration is keeping this as a priority.”
Dr. Tribley adds part-time faculty pay scales were also included and changed.
Their compensation rate is now $1,000 per credit.
