Sheridan College faculty could soon have a bit more in their paychecks.

During the recent budget workshop, the college’s Board of Trustees discussed the upcoming budget for fiscal year 2024.

If approved, part-time faculty will be paid at a rate of $1,000 per credit, employees who earn $100,000 or more will receive a four-percent increase and the president will get a two-percent increase.

All in all, about 52% of the $32.8 million budget will go towards salaries and benefits.

College President Dr. Walter Tribley provides a few details on who else will get pay raises.

Dr. Walter Tribley

“We have budgeted a 5% raise for all employees making less than $100,000. On the faculty side of things, the full-time faculty are paid from a faculty pay scale and in the budget we have accounted for raising that entire scale by 5% and then of course advancing all full-time faculty one step, a step increase on that scale.”

The Board of Trustees will officially vote on the new budget at its next scheduled meet on Tuesday, July 18th.
