Asbestos abatement and demolition of the city-owned building at 103 N. Gould has been completed and work continues to clear the debris and prepare the site to become a parking lot.

That is according to Sheridan Public Works Director Hanns Mercer and City Engineer Tom Morneau, who were recent guests on our talk show Public Pulse.

Morneau explained how the city became the owner of the property and the decision made to convert it to a parking lot.

Morneau said the building has been demolished and the contractor is removing the debris.

The area will be prepped and then city crews will come in and lay down the asphalt surface to complete the parking area.
